What’s Up?

If you have been following along on our Facebook page, you will have seen that our Oak Street location was closed by order of the Louisiana Fire Marshal as of 20 February 2019.

This is because our building did not pass the occupancy inspection, which is required by the City of New Orleans. There are a few reasons for this, centering around some building code violations on construction done some time before we got our lease. The building landlord failed to remedy the code violations and as a result we were forbidden to conduct business there until such time as they are cured.

This closure is in no way our fault nor could we have foreseen it at the time we submitted an application to rent the premises.

We don’t know why the landlord chose to act the way he has, but unfortunately we have had to bring attorneys into the matter.

While we hoped to resolve the situation amicably, it has become clear that this is no longer a relationship that can be salvaged. We are therefore on the hunt for a new location (again), in a city where commercial space is in high demand. It may take some time to get this settled and in the meantime, we’re not sure what’s going to happen.

Please join our mailing list through the link above and we will let you know when we can reopen.

Thank you for your continued support. I cannot express the depth of my appreciation for my valued clients and friends who have been at my side through this very stressful time. When things finally get sorted out, I promise you one hell of a party.

I’ve been trying for months to get out to your store and saw the notice on the door when I got there. That’s a bummer, I hope y’all find some place cool soon!

      Hi Elise!
I took the liberty of adding your name to my mailing list. You will still need to opt in if you would like to be on the list.

I did so because WE HAVE A SHOP AGAIN!

We are at 5509 Magazine Street. We will be doing a soft open over Labor Day weekend and a Grand Opening with ribbon cutting and all the trappings not too long afterwards.

Thank you for hanging in! I am very grateful for your comment and so happy to finally be able to have a Real Store again.
